I've had it! (for now)

I just listened to http://radio.wallst.net/profile.asp?id=16#

Mad Money Machine on the 12 Steps

I'm so depressed. It totally trivialized active investing as a childish and useless behavior. I feel like a loser.

I'm going to go index, target retirement fund crazy now, It was nice knowing you!

If you spend more time listening or reading books about stocks than reading quarterly reports than indexing is for you. If you think all that reading about stocks has helped you than talk to your advisor and pick some mutual funds. Just don’t give him “the sector is down so I should buy now” line rather give him the “woman’s skirts are rising” line. You’ll have more to talk about then. But I know, you have dreams of being rich. Just remember what separates Buffet from an average index performance are 15 stock decisions.
